CBSE To Frame Strict Guidelines For Examiners Working From Home

New Delhi: The Central Board of School Education (CBSE) will issue security guidelines to examiners to avoid privacy breach during evaluation of answer sheets from home amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Following approvals by the Union Home Ministry and Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry, CBSE is all set to restart the evaluation process which is stuck midway due to the nationwide lockdown.

As per the plan, the answers sheets will be shifted from 3,000 schools to the homes of the appointed evaluators. It is expected that the whole process will take 50 days to complete. The total number of answer sheets are 1.5 cores in 173 subjects.

“The guidelines on transportation and security are being formulated and it will be released soon,” a CBSE official told Times of India

“The evaluators in green zones are allowed to travel to the evaluation centres. They are using their personal transportation and adhering to all sanitisation and social distancing norms,” he added.

The evaluation is being conducted in 20 green zone districts. For orange zones, the evaluation will begin from May 12. States like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are expected to resume the evaluation process in green zones.

Odisha will start evaluation from May 20. CBSE, Odisha has marked 60 centres and 6000 evaluators for the paper checking.
