CBSE To Introduce Artificial Intelligence, Design Thinking For Class XI, XII

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has come up with new skill courses including Artificial Intelligence and Design Thinking for students of Class XI and XII.

According to CBSE, these skill courses are necessary for preparing the students to cope up with the fast changing world.

In an official curriculum, the board, as quoted in The New Indian Express said, “Mainstreaming all forms of learning and skills will integrate not just hands-on skilling component but also theoretical knowledge, attitudes and mindset, and soft skills that are required for particular occupation.”

CBSE has already introduced 17 skill subjects at Secondary level and 37 at the Senior Secondary level.

Earlier, the board had introduced ‘applied mathematics’ for students of Class XI and XII.

According to the board’s rule, if a student fails in any of the three elective subjects namely, science, mathematics and social science, then it will be replaced by the skill subject or the sixth subject.
