‘First Bell’: Kerala Starts Academic Year With Online Classes For School Students

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala began the academic session for school students from Monday with online classes, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. It was launched by the name, “First Bell”.

The timetable for the online classes has been released by the Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) and it will be carried out through KITE Victors Channel and YouTube as well.

Kerala CM hailed the decision at the launch session and said the government has started online classes as students cannot reach schools because of the coronavirus crisis.

“Our children are entering the new academic year. Due to COVID-19 children cannot reach schools right now. Instead, the government is preparing a system for home study. Our academic year begins with online classes. Classes will be broadcast according to the timetable set by Kite Victors Channel. Classes will also be made available on YouTube,” said the Chief Minister as quoted by HT.

The online classes will be held from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm from Monday to Friday for all the classes. Various time slots have been allocated to students of different standards.
