IIT Kharagpur’s Spring Fest Begins Today; Promises To Be The Biggest So Far

The 61st edition of the annual social and cultural fest of Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur), Spring Fest 2020, begins today. The fest is being held from January 24-26 at the institute. Witnessing a footfall of over 80,000 participants, it is one of the largest fests in Asia to be completely organised by students.

Participants from over 750 colleges of India will come together at Kharagpur for the three-day celebrations. With the budding excitement of the participants and the organisers alike, this edition of the Spring Fest promises to be the biggest so far.

“Spring fest is the annual social and cultural of IIT Kharagpur, a pioneer in the elite institutions. It marks days of absolute ecstasy, providing the budding artistes a competing platform in diverse fields such as music, dance, theatre, literature, fine arts, quizzing and debating. It is an avenue to be comforted from the routine life and to embrace the fun and frolic embedded with tantalizing professional performances from India and abroad”, reads the website of IIT Kharagpur’s Spring Fest.

For the scheduled Hitch Hike, nationwide prelims were held for five of its flagship events – Nukkad, SF Idol, Shake-a-leg, Two for a Tango and Shuffle in October across 11 Indian cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Patna and Nagpur, as reported by dailypioneer.com.

For Stand-up Comedy and Poetry Slam, elimination and prelims were also held in multiple cities like Bhubaneswar, Kolkata and Ranchi.

Various new events have also been planned to bring out the hidden talent of the students.
