IIT Roorkee, Delhi School Of Economics Win Citibank Hackathon

New Delhi: Students of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee and Delhi School of Economics (DSE) have won the second annual Citi Campus Innovation Challenge (CCIC) Hackathon.

The winner teams were provided a cash prize of Rs 6 lakh each for winning tech and analytical challenges respectively.

This season, 1,340 teams from various tech and analytical institutions across the country had applied for the Hackathon. Five teams that were shortlisted for the tech and analytical challenges, presented their solutions virtually in the finale.

Online coding platform, HackerEarth managed the event in association with Citibank.

“Technology and analytics are the key to solve problems in financial services today, and this hackathon gives us an opportunity to encourage talent and demonstrate to them the scope of their fields within banking. This programme also gives Citi a platform on which to interact and identify India’s top tech and analytical students,” Citi India CEO Ashu Khullar told NDTV.

While the bank offered full-time jobs to top 19 candidates at Citi Solution Centers in Pune and Mumbai, the runners-up teams from IIT Kanpur and DSE received a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh each.
