Last Date To Apply For ‘CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship Scheme’ Extended

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the last date for online submission of application for the single girl child scholarship scheme.

As per a notification issued by the board, candidates now have up to October 31 to apply for the ‘CBSE Merit cum Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child 2019’. The registration window was scheduled to close on October 18.

Consequently, renewal of the online applications of the scholarship for class XI students has also been extended to October 31.

Eligibility:

Students, who are the single girl child in a family are eligible for the scholarship provided they have secured a minimum of 60 per cent marks in the CBSE class X board examinations.

Students should have enrolled for class XI in a CBSE affiliated school for availing the scholarship scheme. The tuition fee in that particular school should not be more than Rs 1500 per month.

The scholarship: 

Students will be entitled to receive Rs 500 per month. The scheme will remain in vogue until the student completes her plus-two studies.
