Sambalpur: Odisha State Open University’s (OSOU) online learning platform could not have started at a better time. Students who are interested to learn online can do so now when the threat of coronavirus is looming large.
OSOU’s learning resources include study material, video lectures, question banks, e-library and short term skill development programmes. Its online learning platform ‘eGyanjyoti’ is free for the next three months.
These web-based resources are for Bachelor, Master, Post Graduate Diploma, Diploma and Certificate programmes. OSOU has adopted the common syllabus prepared by the Odisha State Higher Education Department. These syllabuses are common for the students of regular universities.
“It has always been our motto to take education to the doorstep of the learners and reach out the unreached,” said Vice-Chancellor of the university, Dr Srikant Mohapatra.
OSOU has also developed study material for several disciplines including Odia, English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Political Science, History, Sociology, Journalism and Mass Communication, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, Management, Cyber Security, Rural Development, Disaster Management etc. OSOU has also made its Online Learning Platform ‘eGyanjyoti’ free for the next three months.
The online skill development courses are already being offered to undergraduate and postgraduate students of seven universities in the state. This is the first time it has been opened to everyone and without any cost. Students have to go to the website (www.osou.ac.in) and start learning. They can also download the study material.
