UGC Asks Universities To Suspend Exams, Evaluation Work

New Delhi: In an attempt to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, the University Grants Commission (UGC) on Thursday directed all the universities across India to reschedule all the examinations slated to be held on March 31.

The UGC circular stated that acting upon the directives of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD), the commission has requested all the universities to postpone the examinations and withhold all evaluation work.

The commission has asked the universities to adhere to the following precautionary measures to contain the pandemic:

  1. All ongoing examinations may be postponed.
  2. All evaluation work may be withheld.
  3. All educational institutions may communicate with the students and parents through electronic means to keep them informed about the ongoing activities.
  4. All educational institutions may notify helpline numbers and email Ids, through which students can reach out to them for their queries.
