10 Per Cent Internal Reservation For Puducherry’s Govt School Students In Medical Education

Puducherry: Government school students in medical education will be getting a 10 per cent internal reservation, said Puducherry Chief Minister V Naayanasamy, reported United News of India.

Speaking to reporters, he said that it was decided in the Cabinet Meeting to introduce it as a government order, and send the file to Lt Governor Kiran Bedi for approval.

He also said that despite 94 government school students and 346 private school students clearing National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), only 16 government school students could pursue medical education, while 243 private school students were selected.

The decision is meant to aid government school students to pursue medical education, he added.
