133 Govt High Schools In Odisha To Get Facelift Under 5-T Initiative

Berhampur: A total of 133 government high schools, including 22 Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas, are set to get a facelift soon. This will be taken up under the high school transformation project of the Odisha government’s 5-T initiative.

“The work has already begun in the schools that have been identified for the programme in the 22 blocks of the district. We are aiming to complete it before August 15,” district collector (Ganjam) Vijay Amruta Kulange was quotyed as saying by The Times of India.

The collector added that he has been supervising every project every week to ensure that it gets completed in time. The government is set to allow these schools to start functioning from October 2.

District Rural Development Agency’s (DRDA) project director, Shinde Dattatraya Bhausaheb said though the government’s target is to cover 133 schools under the scheme, the district administration has its eyes set on 274 schools.

“The objective is to instil a sense of pride and aspiration in the students regarding their school campus and motivate them to attend it regularly,” said the district collector.
