3.93 Lakh Students To Appear For Class 12 Exam In Odisha, 5.2 Lakh To Write Class 10 Board

BHUBANESWAR: More than 3.93 lakh students are likely to write the higher secondary or Class 12 examinations in 1,276 centres between February 18 and March 27.
The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha has set up 205 examination management hubs, where question papers will be stored, media reports quoted officials as saying.
Moreover, more than 5.2 lakh students will appear for the Class 10 board examination in 3,133 centres between February 21 and March 5.
Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja has asked all the district collectors and SPs to check malpractices during the class 10 and 12 board exams.
Ahuja held a meeting with the collectors and the SPs through video conference.
He asked the district authorities to ensure round-the-clock foolproof security at the examination centres and hubs. He also directed the officials to strictly implement the protocol set up for the smooth conduct of the board examinations.
The government has imposed restrictions on carrying mobile phones and other electronic gadgets to the examination halls. An additional district magistrate (ADM)-rank officer will remain in charge of the examinations in each district, media reports quoted the Chief Secretary as saying.
Besides, the collectors have been asked to monitor the examinations. The council and board authorities were also instructed to ensure full-proof arrangements for the exams.
“This year, we have decided to deploy special squads at 35 places across 30 districts in advance. Their identity will not be revealed and they will conduct surprise visits at the exam centres. All the examination centres will be brought under CCTV surveillance. We have started preparing to declare the class-12 results within 45 days of exams,” CHSE controller of exams Prasanta Kumar Parida told the media after the meeting.
