Those days are gone. Now, there are several options outside the bracket of the three above-mentioned professions that have revolutionised the job market and provide equal or more scope and earning.

Data Science has gained immense popularity in the past few months, if not years. Data scientists are essential for their analytical expertise. Data science professionals use social science and technology to find trends and manage data. The job is aimed at analysing raw data and find solutions to various business problems.
Educational Qualification: There is no such predefined qualification criterion for the job. However, BE/BTech engineers or graduates having a degree or certification in data science enjoy an added advantage. Also, having a rudimentary knowledge of basic programming languages like Python, SQL help.
Pay Scale: Certified data scientists get salaries ranging from Rs 4 lakhs to Rs 12 lakhs per annum to start with. More the experience, higher the salary. It can go up to Rs 60 lakhs to Rs 70 lakhs per annum and is currently one of the highest paying IT jobs in the country.
Digital marketing has of late gained importance in light of the fast-increasing popularity of social media platforms. The advertisers are more interested in digital media and the hype is here to stay to change the ways of today’s communication. Digital marketers use the internet and other means of digital communication like email, social media, text, and web-based advertising.
Educational Qualification: Although it’s not necessary to have a digital marketing degree, possessing certifications, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, PR, or Mass Communication works in aspirants’ favour. Also, multiple online courses are available for the individuals to upgrade skills further.
Pay Scale: Entry-level professionals, salaries range between Rs 3 lakhs and Rs. 6 lakhs per annum. Individuals with more experience can draw somewhere between Rs 10 lakhs and 12 lakhs per annum. The salaries can go up to Rs 15 lakhs to Rs 22 lakhs per annum after spending a considerable time in the field.
Medical Professionals
Becoming a doctor, surgeon or any other medical professional is a tough ask, but the rewards are worth the hard work. Medical professionals are the backbones of the society as found during the raging COVID-19 pandemic.
Educational Qualification: An MBBS is an entry-level qualification. One must be an MD or MS (Master of Surgery) to earn more. Having good communication skills, compassion, and attention to detail is important for a doctor to establish themselves.
Pay Scale: Medical professionals possessing higher qualifications or specialised degrees obviously earn more. Those with an MD earns around Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh per annum. This can go up to Rs 25 lakhs per annum or even more after having considerable experience.

Nowadays, machine learning and artificial intelligence experts help companies take data-driven calls drive them to greater success. These professionals are much in demand will hold importance in future too.
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, or other related fields is essential for one to make the cut.
Pay Scale: The annual salary ranges between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 8 lakhs for entrants. However, individuals with more experience command salary up to Rs 20 lakh per annum.
Blockchain Developers
Blockchain technology is another in IT that is gaining popularity with each passing day. Blockchain development is a digital record of transactions used to record transactions made with cryptocurrencies. There are also other applications of this technology. With digital payments gaining momentum in India, blockchains are a key innovator in the fintech space.
Educational Qualification: Aspirants must have B.E/B.Tech degrees in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or other fields specialising in programming. Candidates with knowledge of Ripple, R3, bitcoin, and Etherium technologies get preference.
Pay Scale: For entry-level, the salary earned is between Rs 3 lakh and Rs 6 lakh per annum. With experience, it can reach up to Rs 45 lakh per annum.
