New Delhi: A 50-bed COVID care centre for employees and Delhi Police personnel has been set up by the Jamia Hamdard here at its Hamdard Nagar Campus.
Earlier also, Jamia Hamdard, in association with the Delhi Police, had established centres in Rohini and Shahadara.
The COVID centre currently houses 5 AYUSH doctors, 3 MBBS doctors, and 10 Nurses to look after the patients round the clock, the university said.
The university said that the facility is exclusively for Jamia Hamdard employees, Delhi Police and their dependants at Majeedia Hospital, School of Unani Medical Education and Research.
The facility will handle mild to moderately sick patients till the time they are admitted to regular COVID hospitals, if required.
Delhi police commissioner SN Shrivastava, deputy commissioners Atul Kumar Thakur (South), RP Meena (South-East), and ACPs inspected the centre in presence of the Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard, Hamid Ahmed and other senior officials.
“The initiative aims at tackling mild to moderate Covid cases by establishing 50 bedded Covid care centre,” Ahmed was quoted as saying by Careers360.
The centre is equipped with cardiac monitors, ECG machines, oxygen cylinders and concentrators, oximeters, glucometers, Covid kit, essential medicines, medicines for immunity boosting, well trained medical staff and other necessary equipment, Ahmed said.
