574 Graduates Receive Degrees At 11th Convocation Of Sri Sri University

CUTTACK: A cohort of 574 graduates, comprising 17 Ph.D. awardees, 142 postgraduates, and 415 undergraduates of Sri Sri University received their degrees during its 11th convocation on November 10, 2024, while 31 students awarded gold medals for scholastic achievements.

The event was graced by the presence of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, a global humanitarian, spiritual luminary, and the lifetime president of the University.

Gokulananda Mallik, Minister of State, Fisheries & Animal Resource Development, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of Odisha participated in the event as the chief guest while American venture capital investor Dr. Tim Drapper was the guest of honour.

Since its inception in 2012, Sri Sri University has become a beacon of holistic education, harmonising the timeless wisdom of the East with the pioneering innovations of the West.

Accredited with ‘A’ Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and figured among the top 200 global institutions (THE Impact Rankings 2023), the university offers a rich tapestry of programmes spanning nine faculties.

In his address, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar urged the students to embrace a life of wisdom, compassion, and service.

Gokulananda Mallik lauded the university’s meteoric rise and its transformative contributions to global academia. He praised Sri Sri University’s pursuit of academic distinction.

Prof. Mrs. Rajita Kulkarni, president of Sri Sri University, spoke about its pivotal role in attracting global talent to Odisha.

Dr. Tim Drapper advised the students about the truth of life.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tej Partap presented the university’s annual report, highlighting strategic initiatives for future growth. Executive Registrar Prof. Anil Kumar Sharma addressed the gathering.

Integrated M.Sc. (Osteopathy) gold medallist Arunima Arora expressed gratitude to Sri Sri University.

“Our dream come true as our son Ujwal Kumar received a gold medal today. His life skills have increased manifold,” said Pravin Kumar Baroda and Sonalika Kumar.

The 11th convocation of Sri Sri University was a resplendent celebration of academic excellence.

Educators’ conclave

More than 200 educators including Vice-Chancellors, Registrars, Deans, Principals, HODs, Professors, DEOs from various institutions discussed the challenges faced by academic leaders of Odisha.

Addressing the conclave, Santosh Kumar Satpathy, Chief Advisor to the Governor, spoke about the necessity to have more partnerships among institutions and SSU. The educators asked questions regarding implementation of the NEP, the addition and attention deficit issues among students.
