7 Chennai Govt School Girls Cleared NEET Without Coaching
Chennai: Seven girls from a Chennai government school managed to clear National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), also benefitting from the 7.5 per cent MBBS and BDS seat reservation for government school students, reported Edex Live.
The girls are from the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, with two of the them clearing NEET in the first try, while the other five clearing it after multiple attempts.
School Principal RC Saraswathi said that the school aimed at making the girls responsible citizens living with dignity in the society, also mentioning the school’s policy of “answering all questions and doubts students had.”
“We do not differentiate between present and passed-out students. Any student who joins our school will continue to get our support as long as they need it,” the principal was quoted as saying by The Indian Express. She also spoke about the school’s “holistic approach to education.”
Prerna, a student who secured a medical seat at Vellore Medical College on her second attempt, credited her school teachers for her success. “I used to keep asking my school teachers to clear my doubts and they would do it patiently always,” Prerna was quoted by The Indian Express.
A total of 75 students from the school signed up for the free online classes organised by the department last year to clear NEET, and 90 have signed up this year.
