SPPU Students Seek Redress as Servers Crash During Online Examinations
Pune: Adding to the technical glitches on the sixth day of online examinations, the servers for Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) examinations crashed during the exam scheduled on Monday, causing confusion and panic among students, reported Punekar News.
Explaining the situation, founder of SPPU Student Union Wing, Kamalakar Shete, said, “As soon as the test ended, candidates clicked on the ‘submit’ button but it was displaying a server error. Students had to give a new test after some time with a different question set again for another 60 minutes.”
Students took to social media to voice their complaints. “Couldn’t submit my answers at the last moment the page stopped responding. Please solve this issue. Do the needful.” said Srayoshee Das, a student.
Another student, Ankit Khandekar, said, “My test did not get submitted today so I attempted again and the same issue occurred. The website crashed during the process and now it shows that I have not tried the test even though I have attempted it twice and submitted it.”
The poor technical support was also criticised by the students. “Not a single call is connected. How am I supposed to solve this problem,” asked student Ravindra Chavan.
Releasing a video and seeking action against Wheelbox, the hired company, Shete said, “The university administration is requested to ask the concerned company to resolve these issues. Even after making repeated complaints, there are problems, so action should be taken against the company.”
