Hindu College Alumni’s ‘Pandemic Study Grant’ To Help Needy Students
New Delhi: To help students suffering due to the pandemic, Delhi University’s Hindu College, via its Old Students Association (OSA), has established a ‘pandemic study grant’ to provide financial aid of Rs 20,000 for their annual fees, reported Hindustan Times.
A press release by the OSA stated that the aim of the study grant is to support students belonging to families with annual incomes less than Rs 5 lakh, by providing a one-time study grant to help Economically Weaker Section (EWS) students, “as they are facing a huge challenge in paying the college annual fees.”
Students wishing to apply for this grant have to submit their application and Family Income Certificate to Mahesh Rawat, Accounts Department, Hindu College or on his email [email protected], said the release.
The alumni are also planning an “OSA – Principal PC Verma Study Grant Fund”, meant for annual disbursal of funds for “select needy students”, said Association president Ravi Burman.
Requesting for donations for the fund, the association said that the alumni wishing to contribute can send a cheque in favour of ‘Old Students Association, Hindu College’, or make an online donation at the alumni portal, with all donations being exempt from taxes “under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.”
