New Delhi: Students had paid examination fees for class 10 and 12 Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examinations, before they got cancelled.
The Delhi High Court on Wednesday directed CBSE to decide if it would refund the examination fees. The court gave CBSE eight weeks to take a decision on the issue.
While the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic forced cancellation of class 10 exams in April, the decision to cancel class 12 was taken after a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 1.
A petition had been filed by Deepa Joseph, mother of a class 10 student studying in a CBSE-affiliated school in New Delhi, seeking refund of at least part of the Rs 2100 examination fee she had paid.
