NEET PG 2024: AFA Raises Concerns As NBEMS Letter Goes Viral On Social Media  

HYDERABAD: All Foreign Medical Graduates Association (AFA) has voiced concern over the security concerning the NEET PG 2024, scheduled for August 11.

The AFA, through a social media post, shared a letter issued by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), which conducts the examination.

“It appears that a confidential letter from NBEMS has been leaked in public, containing information about the exam shift and the number of students taking the exam. If a confidential letter can be leaked, can we be confident about the security of the NEET PG paper?” the AFA posted on its official social media handle on X (formerly Twitter).

What the letter says

The letter dated August 1, 2024 and signed by NBEMS president Dr. Abhijat Sheth, sought help from the district administrations and officials to ensure the smooth conduct of the exam.

The letter shared the following information. The exam will be held in two shifts. The morning shift will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 pm, while the afternoon shift will be conducted between 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Candidates can enter the exam centres at 7 a.m. for the morning session, while for the afternoon session, they can enter the centres from 1:30 p.m. The letter also mentioned that the exam will be held in computer-based test (CBT) mode.

The letter says that the exam will be conducted at 376 exam centers in 169 cities in India. The NEET PG 2024 has been rescheduled from June 23 due to the paper leak controversy related to the NEET UG and other exams.

Though the AFA terms it as a leak of confidential information, since the letter is labelled confidential, some social media users have commented that it is a routine letter written to the authorities before any exam and there is nothing confidential about it.  

However, given the controversy and large-scale irregularities surrounding the NEET-UG 2024, the aspirants are concerned about the social media post over the NBEMS letter.
