UGC NET June 2025 Result Declared; Over 1.28 lakh Candidates Qualify For PhD

The UGC-NET June 2025 was held in CBT mode from June 18 to 21 to determine eligibility for the posts of Assistant Professor and award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in universities and colleges.

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the results of the UGC-NET June 2025 examination. Candidate who appeared for the June session exam can download their scorecards from the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

The UGC-NET June 2025 was held in CBT mode from June 18 to 21 to determine eligibility for the posts of Assistant Professor and award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in universities and colleges.

According to the data released by the NTA, 10,19,751 candidates registered for the examination, of which 7,52,007 candidates appeared for the test and 5,269 candidates cleared the exam for both JRF and Assistant Professorship. Additionally, 54,885 candidates qualified for Assistant Professor and PhD admission, while 1,28,179 candidates qualified for PhD admission only.

How to check UGC NET June 2025 result?

Step 1: Visit the official UGC NET website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in

Step 2: Click on the link titled “UGC NET June 2025 Result”

Step 3: Enter application number, date of birth, and security pin

Step 4: The result will appear on the screen

Step 5: Download scorecard and take a printout for reference

Their scorecards include total marks, percentile scores, and qualification status for JRF and/or Assistant Professorship. Subject-wise and category-wise cut-off marks has been published along with the results.

The NTA follows a percentile-based normalisation process to ensure comparability across multiple shifts.

Candidates who meet the minimum required score in their subject and category are considered qualified for the respective levels.

Candidates who have qualified for JRF can apply for funded research positions in universities and are also eligible to apply for Assistant Professor roles.

Those who qualified for Assistant Professorship can apply for teaching positions in colleges and universities across India.

Candidates shortlisted under the PhD-only category can proceed to apply for admission to doctoral programmes as per the guidelines of respective institutions.
