CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship Application Deadline Extended Until November 20
As part of the scheme, scholarships will be provided to meritorious single girl students who have qualified the CBSE Class 10 examination with 70 per cent or more marks and are continuing their school education in Class 11 and 12.
NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the application deadline for the CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child until November 20, a notification has said.

Single girl children who have qualified Class 10 in 2025 from schools affiliated to CBSE and are studying in Class 11 CBSE schools can apply online on the official website, cbse.gov.in.
The CBSE has also extended the renewal portal of the CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child for those students who were awarded in 2024.

How to apply for CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship
Step 1: Visit the official website, cbse.gov.in
Step 2: Click on ‘Single girl child scholarship X-2025 REG’
Step 3: Click on the designated scholarship application link
Step 4: On the new tab, select the type of application — fresh or renewal
Step 5: Now click on SGC-X fresh application or renewal
Step 6: Fill the application form and upload the documents
Step 7: Submit the Single Girl Child Scholarship application

Selection procedure
- The student must have passed the Class 10 examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) with a minimum of 70 per cent marks or above.
- For renewal of the scholarship, the student must have received the CBSE Single Girl Child Merit Scholarship in the previous year.
- She should have been a student of a CBSE-affiliated school in Class 11 during the last academic session, secured 70 per cent or more marks in Class 11, and been promoted to Class 12.
- The student should be pursuing her Class 11 and Class 12 studies in a CBSE-affiliated school.
- The applicant must be the only girl child of her parents.
- The tuition fee of the student should not exceed Rs 2,500 per month during Class 10 and Rs 3,000 per month during Class 11 and 12.
- Students whose gross parental or family income does not exceed Rs 8 lakh per annum are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
- A self-declaration of income by the parent, made on a non-judicial notarized stamp paper, must be uploaded online.
- The first quarterly fee slip, duly verified and signed by the Principal of the school, must be uploaded online along with the application.
- All applications must be verified by the school where the student is currently studying. Unverified applications will be rejected.
- The facility for processing and verification of applications is available to the school authorities.
