CTET September Exam Postponed; Check New Dates
New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the revised exam dates for the 22nd edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026.
According to the latest public notice issued on September 14 on its official website, the CTET for the second session, generally held in September, will now be held on December 12 and 13, 2026.
“It is hereby informed that the 22nd edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) will be conducted on 12th and 13th December 2026. Information regarding the Examination City and the date of examination allotted will be made available on the CTET portal 15 days before the examination. The Admit Card, containing details of the Examination Centre, will be made available for download from the CTET portal two days before the examination,” the notice said.
The CTET 2026 examination was earlier scheduled to be held on September 6, but to provide another chance to candidates who could not register, CBSE reopened the application window on August 25, allowing eligible candidates to apply for the examination till September 1. Subsequently, the board has postponed the exam to the above-mentioned dates.
The CTET 2026 examination will be conducted by CBSE offline, in pen-and-paper mode. The exam is carried for two papers. Paper I is conducted for candidates who aspire to teach Classes 1 to 5, while Paper II is for those seeking eligibility to teach Classes 6 to 8.
