New Delhi: Alakh Pandey, founder and CEO of PhysicsWallah (PW), has unveiled a bold two‑year plan to deepen the EdTech giant’s footprint across South India.
“For the next 24 months, my life will be dedicated to students in South India, and I will be stationed here,” Pandey declared at a student event in Tirupati, signalling a strategic shift for India’s fastest‑growing education company.
Popularly known as Alakh Sir, Pandey emphasised his mission to empower learners in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala. “Through our platform, I want to provide them the tools required to realise their potential… For the next 24 months, I want to dedicate my focus to these states to increase PW’s presence and bring the same quality education we provide in other regions,” he said.
Founded in 2020 by Pandey and Prateek Maheshwari, PhysicsWallah has rapidly transformed India’s education landscape. The company has impacted more than 40 million students since inception, with 5 million paid learners enrolled in 2026 alone.
PW currently leads in 12 out of 16 test preparation categories, cementing its dominance in the sector. Its sprawling digital community reaches 142 million students, while its mobile app has crossed 89.4 million cumulative downloads as of FY 2025‑26.
With Pandey pledging to personally anchor operations in the region, PhysicsWallah’s southern push is set to redefine India’s EdTech map over the next two years.
