NEET-PG 2026: Plea In Supreme Court Seeks Candidate-Specific Question and Response Sheet Disclosure
A plea filed in the apex court challenges NBEMS over its NEET-PG 2026 score disclosure format, saying candidates were not shown the actual questions and answer options they saw in the exam
NEW DELHI: A plea filed in the Supreme Court has challenged the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences’ (NBEMS) disclosure mechanism for NEET-PG 2026, complaining that candidates cannot properly verify their scores unless they are shown the actual questions and answer options presented to them during the examination, a LiveLaw report said.
NEET-PG 2026 was conducted on August 30, with 2,65,960 candidates appearing for the examination.
The results were declared on September 24 and the NBEMS released a question-wise evaluation and answer-key-related details through candidates’ individual applicant logins on October 1.
The petition, filed by the Democratic Medical Association, challenges the recent NBEMS notice. The plea said NBEMS has disclosed Question IDs, numerical IDs of the correct answers, candidates’ recorded responses and marks awarded for each question, but has not provided the actual question text or complete answer options in the order in which they appeared to individual candidates.
The petitioner argued that the current disclosure does not allow candidates to verify whether the correct answer was applied to the question they attempted or whether their responses were accurately mapped.

As NEET-PG uses candidate-specific shuffling of questions and answer options, the plea contests that numerical IDs alone do not show what appeared on each candidate’s screen.
It has sought access to the actual questions and options to identify possible errors, including ambiguous questions, multiple correct answers or discrepancies in answer mapping.
The petition also seeks directions to NBEMS to provide every candidate with a complete examination record corresponding to the question paper they received.

The petitioner also sought a downloadable and permanent electronic copy of these records in PDF, CSV or other suitable formats. It also seeks a time-bound mechanism allowing candidates to raise objections after reviewing their actual questions and answer options.
With NEET-PG 2026 results declared and counselling set to follow, the petition has highlighted the need for candidates to verify their scores and seek correction of any errors before the admission process progresses.
