NEW DELHI: The renewal process for the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan (PM-USP) Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship (CSSS) for the 2026-27 academic year has commenced.

Students who availed off the scholarship in the previous academic year can also apply though the National Scholarship Portal, scholarships.gov.in to continue receiving financial help for higher education.

The last date to submit application is October 31, 2026, while the deadline for institute-level verification is November 15, 2026.

PM-USP CSSS Scholarship 2026 Eligibility

Applicants must meet the conditions given below to renew their scholarship this academic year.

  • Minimum marks: At least 50% marks in previous year’s examination.
  • Attendance: Maintain the required attendance of 75%.
  • Regular course: Continue pursuing a regular course at a recognised institution.

Documents needed

Students should keep the following documents handy for renewal of the Central Sector Scholarship.

  • Previous year’s marksheet
  • Student or bona fide certificate from the institution
  • Aadhaar details
  • Bank account details
  • Income certificate, if required
  • Current year’s fee receipt, if requested

How to apply for Central Sector Scholarship

Step 1: Visit the National Scholarship Portal, scholarships.gov.in

Step 2: Log in using the required One-Time Registration (OTR) credentials.

Step 3: Select the PM-USP CSSS renewal application for 2026-27.

Step 4: Check personal, academic and bank details.

Step 5: Fill in the required information and upload the requested documents.

Step 6: Submit the application and save the acknowledgement for reference.

The scholarship amount depends on the student’s course and level of study. The approved amount is transferred directly to the eligible student’s bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), subject to successful verification and approval.
