Berhampur: With 20 seconds hand wash being promoted as one of the safety measures to tackle the coronavirus pandemic, it’s no surprise that antibacterial products like hand sanitisers and soaps are flying off the shelves.
To bridge this demand-supply gap and extend an helping hand to Odisha government employees on COVID-19 duty, a team of trainees from ITI-Berhampur under supervision of professors of Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Berhampur, has prepared 350 bottles of hand sanitizers at the IISER Lab.
These have been branded as ‘Senitizers’, Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA) said on its official Twitter handle.
“The 30 ml bottles of hand sanitiser have been produced for on-duty government employees. We will hand these over to the Berhampur Municipal Corporation for distribution,” ITI-Berhampur principal Rajat Kumar Panigrahy said.
These have been produced in accordance with the World Health Organisation (WHO) recommendations, said head of the Department of Chemistry of IISER, Berhampur, Rakesh Pathak.
