New Delhi: The All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) has asked states to finish admissions to engineering courses, while also extending the last date till December 31, following a council meeting to review present admission dates, reported Times Now.
In a circular on Thursday, AICTE cited the delay in releasing Common Entrance Test (CET) results as the reason for revising the last date. The changed dates apply only to states with delayed CET results due to the pandemic and include admissions to UG, UG lateral, diploma, diploma lateral and PG admissions.
#AICTE extends the last date for #admission to #Engineering courses upto 31st December, 2020 in only those cases as mentioned in the revised Academic Calendar for A/Y 2020-21.

The AICTE circular directed the Maharashtra CET cell to complete the engineering admission process by December 31.
The circular added that the deadline extension applied only to cases where admissions and counselling have not begun due to delayed CET results, or counselling not being over, with classes not being started for more than 15 days to cover students’ “academic requirements” and “to avoid academic loss”.
