AMU To Bury Time Capsule To Capture 100-Year Journey On Republic Day

New Delhi: The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will bury a time capsule to capture its glorious history on the occasion of the Republic Day as part of its centenary celebrations.

The biography of AMU founder Sir Syed Ahmed and his age-old addresses, texts of speeches by prominent people from the pre-Independence era, historical details of every building on campus and other important documents will be recorded in the time capsule of the 100-year-old varsity.

The capsule will also preserve copies of convocation addresses of chief guests from 1922 to 2018 and information about the institution’s development over the years.

The 4-foot deep capsule will weigh 1.5 tonnes and is built with high-tempered steel, reported ABP Education.

It will be buried in the park opposite Victoria Gate, which is the oldest building on campus. Vice-chancellor Tariq Mansoor will preside over the ceremony.
