Kolkata: Notwithstanding the gloom in the job market, the summer internship placement in IIM Calcutta has seen a record monthly stipend offers for the Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) batch.
As per a statement, all the 57 students were placed within half a day of the exercise recently, with the highest monthly stipend going up to Rs 1.72 lakh.
The average montly stipend surpassed last year’s figure by 12.5 per cent and reached Rs 1.25 lakh. Top firms with a focus on analytics had no hesitation offering the best package to hire the best minds.
They included Amazon, Airtel, McKinsey, PwC DIAC, MasterCard, Mondelez, among others.
PGDBA is a 2-year full-time residential program offered jointly by three premier Institutes of the country – IIM Calcutta, ISI Kolkata, and IIT Kharagpur.
“The significance of IIM Calcutta’s PGDBA Summer Internship 2019 is the presence of major recruiters in the Business Analytics domain, which essentially underlines our commitment to the industry in providing right candidates in the analytics domain,” according to Prof Prashant Mishra, Dean (New Initiatives & External relations).
