Anand Mahindra Launches Mahindra University; Aims To Create, Engage leaders

Hyderabad: The Mahindra Group on Friday announced the launch of Mahindra University (MU) to deliver more balanced education, combining the latest technology, liberal arts, to create next-generation leaders, reported India TV.

Mahindra Group Chairman, Anand Mahindra took to Twitter to announce the digital launch of Mahindra University that aims at rising beyond technology, creating and engaging global thinkers and leaders. The university also aims to focus on world-class, futuristic education in India and work on a new curriculum that integrates technology with other disciplines. It will run an interdisciplinary graduate, postgraduate, and research courses.

MU, the autonomous university is a part of Mahindra Educational Institution (MEI), a not-for-profit-subsidiary of Tech Mahindra. Anand Mahindra, Chancellor, Mahindra University, said, “High-quality education has transformative powers for individuals and nations, alike. Mahindra University will strive to deliver a more balanced education, combining the latest technology with Liberal Arts, to create next-generation leaders that have a holistic world view,” as quoted by Business World Education.

Soon after the news broke, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, also praised and congratulated the Tech Mahindra Chairman for his efforts.

Mahindra Group has been engaging in educational philanthropy since 1953 by funding scholarships in various universities globally. The Hyderabad campus spreads on a 130-acre land and will also include the Ecole Centrale School of Engineering, set up in 2014.
