HYDERABAD: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has uploaded the provisional answer key for the University Grants Commission–National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2024 to its official website.
The UGC NET June 2024 was conducted from August 21 and August 23, 2024. Candidates who appeared for the examination can download the provisional answer key from the official website-ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
How to download UGC NET 2024 answer key
Step 1: Go to ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
Step 2: Open the provisional answer key download link given on the home page
Step 3: Provide your application number, date of birth
Step 4: Login and download the answer key.
Marking scheme
- Each question asked in the test carries two marks.
- For each correct response, candidate will get two (+2) marks.
- There is no negative marking for incorrect answers in UGC NET.
- No marks will be given for un-answered/un-attempted questions and questions marked for review.
- To answer a question, a candidate needs to choose only one option.
- If a question is found to be incorrect/ambiguous or has multiple correct answers, only those candidates who attempted the question and chosen one of the correct answers would be given the credit (+2 marks)
Answer key challenge
Candidates who are not satisfied with the provisional answer key can challenge it on payment of a non-refundable fee of ₹200 per question.

How to challenge of Answer Key(s) of UGC – NET June 2024
Step 1: Go to NTA website https://ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
Step 2: Click ‘Challenge (s) regarding Answer Key’
Step 3: Login with Application Number and Date of Birth and enter security pin as displayed and submit.
Step 4: Click on “View Answer Sheet” for marked responses and to view or challenge the answer keys, click on the link Click “Challenge” button to view provisional answer keys and challenge the questions.
Step 5: You will see Question IDs in sequential order.
Step 6: The ID next to the question under the column ‘Correct Option(s)’ stands for the correct. Answer Key to be used by NTA. The Dropped Questions are highlighted and not for challenge.
Step 7: If you wish to challenge this option, you may use any one or more of the Option IDs given in the next four columns by clicking the check box.
Step 8: You may upload supporting documents in which you can select ‘Choose File’ and upload (all documents to be put in a single pdf file).
Step 9: After clicking your desired option, scroll down, ‘Submit and review Claims’ and move to the next screen.
Step 10: You will see a display of all the Option IDs you have challenged.
Step 11: Click on ‘Modify your Claims’ in case you wish to modify the claims OR ‘Final Submit’.
Step 12: After saving the claims, you will find a screen displaying your Challenges.
Step 13: Pay the fee by clicking on ‘Pay Now’. The claims will be saved finally after successful payment of requisite fee.
Step 14: Select mode of payment and pay fee Rs.200 for each question challenged. Make payment through Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking/UPI.
