BHU To Teach Engineering Courses In Hindi

New Delhi: The language barrier is the biggest difficulty for any student studying in some other state away from his home. Let it be English, Hindi or any other language, most of the students face this challenge.

In a bid to remove the language barrier from higher studies, the Yogi Govt has now decided to teach the technical engineering subjects in Hindi in the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) from the next academic session.

Following this effort from the Uttar Pradesh government, the BHU will be the first university in the country to offer any technical course in Hindi.

Meanwhile, the BHU is busy arranging Hindi books for first-year BTech courses.

Professor Pramod Kumar Jain, the Director of IIT BHU and the Chairman of the Official Language Committee, has confirmed the introduction and induction of the engineering courses in Hindi for first-year students.

“The Decision to launch engineering courses in Hindi along with traditional English has been taken under the new Education Policy, which has a provision for making mother tongue the medium of instruction,” Jain said.

It may be noted that the new National Education Policy (NEP) that the Centre announced last year had elaborated its plan to introduce engineering courses in Hindi at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), subsequently.
