BSE & IIT Patna To Offer Prog In Data Analytics & Business Intelligence

The BSE Institute Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bombay Stock Exchange, has entered into an academic collaboration with IIT Patna to jointly offer Post Graduate Certificate programme in Data Analytics & Business Intelligence.

The one-year online programme will be jointly taught by IIT Patna and BSE Institute Ltd, a BSE statement said. The MoU was signed by Managing Director & CEO, BSE Institute Ltd. Ambarish Datta and Associate Dean IIT Patna Dr. Sumanta Gupta.

Growing Demand For Advanced Analytics Professional…

The programme has been launched keeping in mind the increased demand of professionals who are well versed in handling data and advanced analytics considered essential for organisations in present times to adapt their business models and stay ahead of the competition, the statement said.

It has been estimated that data is expected to grow up to 50 times by 2020. Organizations have to stay updated with the demands of massive volumes of data so that they don’t become obsolete. Therefore, the PG programme shall equip students with the requisite skill and practice to take up roles in the changing work scenario, the statement added.

The scope of data analytics in India is immense especially in the banking sector, policing, fraud detection, healthcare, telecommunications, e-commerce, energy and risk management.

As workplaces are becoming more tech-driven and fast-paced today, professionals trained in data analysis are already playing an increasingly important role in businesses. Both startups and tech giants in India are also adding data analysts to their workforce who are capable of recording, analysing and dissecting data to drive effective decision-making, said Dutta.
