New Delhi: Scholarships have been granted by the Confederation of Alumni for National Law Universities (CAN Foundation) to 45 undergraduate students of National Law Universities (NLUs) as part of its Project Eklavya 2021.
This year’s scholarships — granted under various heads — amounted to ₹40 lakh. Project Eklavya aims to lift and impact deserving but underprivileged undergraduate students of NLUs, who are granted annual scholarships that fund their education.
According to a Bar and Bench report, CAN Foundation had a two-tier selection procedure in place, in which applications for these scholarships had undergone strict vigilance by selection committees consisting of legal luminaries.
The students were selected by a carefully nominated Tier-1 Scrutiny Committee, following which the verification of applications was done by a three-member High-Powered Selection Committee.
