CAT 2024: IIM Calcutta Warns Students Against Fake Websites
Bengaluru: The Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM-C) on Thursday issued an alert for CAT 2024 aspirants against some fraudulent websites impersonating to be the official CAT 2024 website.
The notice mentions that the CAT 2024 official website for registration is iimcat.ac.in, as advertised in several newspapers. Aspirants have been advised not to enter credentials in the fake website and check the URL for genuineness.
“CAT Centre has been made aware of a fraudulent website posing as a website for CAT registration, targeting applicants and soliciting personal information. We urge all applicants and stakeholders to be cautious and visit only our official website and not fall prey to spurious or malicious websites engaging in pharming/phishing that resemble the official CAT website,” the company said in a social media platform ‘X’.
Common Admission Test 2024 (CAT 2024) will be a computer-based test which will be held on November 24 in three sessions.
How to check the genuine website:
- Always verify the URL and ensure it is the official website for CAT
- Be cautious of unsecured websites asking for personal information or payments
- Report any suspicious activity to the CAT help desk at [email protected]
Details of CAT 2024:
- The registration process for Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 from August 1, 2024. The registration process will stay open till September 13, 2024.
- IIM Calcutta will conduct the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 on November 24, 2024.
- According to the notification, candidates will be required to pay a registration fee of Rs 2,500 for CAT 2024. Meanwhile, applicants belonging to ST, SC and PwD categories will have to make a fee payment of Rs 1,250.
- The CAT exam, which is a computer-based test, will take place at test centres across 170 cities in the country. While admit cards will be issued on November 5, the results are expected to be announced in the second week of January.
