CAT 2024: Registration Date Extended Till September 20

Bengaluru: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta has extended the date for the registration of the Common Admission Test 2024 till September 20.

Interested students will have the chance to register and fill out the application form from the official website, iimcat.ac.in.

Earlier, the last date for the CAT, 2024 was fixed on September 13.

Such extension of the registration deadline was also done last year. The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow, which was holding the examination last year, had extended the registration deadline to September 20.

The CAT exam, which is a computer-based test, will take place at test centres across 170 cities in the country. While admit cards will be issued on November 5, the results are expected to be announced in the second week of January.

How to apply for CAT 2024:

To apply for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024, the candidates have to follow these processes.

  1. Go to the official CAT website. The link is iimcat.ac.in.
  2. Click on the “Register” button to create a new user account. A candidate has to fill in the basic details like name, date of birth, email address, and mobile number for registration. After submission of the information, the candidate will receive the User ID and password via email and SMS.
  3. User ID and password will be necessary to log in to the CAT application portal.
  4. Fill out the application form in the prescribed format
  5. Upload scanned copies of candidate’s photograph, signature, and any other required documents such as caste or disability certificates, if applicable.
  6. Pay the application fee: The application fee can be paid online using a credit/debit card or net banking.
  7. Carefully review all the information entered in the application form. Once satisfied, the candidate can apply.
  8. After successful submission, print the application confirmation page for future references.

Eligibility criteria:

The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50 per cent marks or equivalent CGPA awarded by any university or educational institution. This is 45 per cent marks in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories).

Candidates appearing for the final year of the Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply.
