CBSE Awards Full Marks To Students For Wrong Questions In Odia Paper
Bhubaneswar: Ending the anxiety among students and parents regarding the discrepancy in the Odia language paper of Term-I in the Class X examination conducted by CBSE, the Board has awarded full marks to all the students.
The Board took the decision after a committee was formed on Monday to assess the complaints regarding discrepancies with the Odia answer key. A school claimed that the answers given in the answer key for some of the questions are wrong. Several students and their parents had also complained to the CBSE regarding the discrepancies.
Taking the issue seriously, Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan intervened and directed officials to ensure quick redressal of student grievances. The dispute was redressed in 24 hours.
After announcing the results on March 12, the Central Board has provided with an online Dispute Redressal Mechanism for CBSE Term I result 2021-22. Students, parents and teachers can raise objections till March 26.
The CBSE stated that when the discrepancy was brought to the notice of Shiksha Mantri Dharmendra Pradhan on March 14, he directed that the dispute be resolved within the next 24 hours and students’ grievances be addressed immediately and appropriately.
Accordingly, an expert committee was set up by CBSE for examining the discrepancies mentioned in the representation.
“The Committee submitted its report at 6 pm on March 14 and based on the report of the expert committee, the CBSE has evaluated the OMRs of Odia Class-X with the correct answer key approved by the expert committee. The revised performance of students has been since sent to the concerned schools for onward information of the students.
