CBSE Holds Principals’ Workshop On Role Of Parenting In Students’ Well-being
The workshop features sessions on the crucial role of parenting in shaping students' emotional and psychological health
HYDERABAD: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has organised a workshop on ‘Parenting for Students’ Well-being’ at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in New Delhi.
The workshop was aimed at equipping around 150 principals of CBSE schools across Delhi and NCR with strategies to support the emotional and psychological health of students.
The workshop featured sessions conducted by experts which focused on the crucial role of parenting in shaping students’ emotional and psychological health, a statement issued by the CBSE said.
In his inaugural address, CBSE Secretary Himanshu Gupta highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in enhancing well-being of the students.
CBSE Chairperson Rahul Singh spoke about the evolving challenges faced by parents and the necessity for schools to take an active role in guiding the families. “Parenting is a dynamic role with constantly evolving responsibilities. Effective parenting benefits from the shared wisdom of different generations,” he said and stressed instilling values that contribute to a child’s happiness.
Anuradha Joshi, Principal of Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, threw light on valuable strategies for supporting and maintaining the emotional needs of students. The workshop concluded with a question and answer session, wherein the principals shared their insights on dealing with specific challenges.
Holistic development of students
This workshop reinforced CBSE’s commitment to the holistic development of students by empowering school leaders with the knowledge and skills to support parents in creating a nurturing environment for student’s well-being in alignment with the goals envisaged in the National Education Policy-2020, the CBSE statement said.
