CBSE, ISCE Class XII Board Exams Cancelled

New Delhi: The central government on Tuesday decided to cancel the Class XII board exams of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in view of the ongoing COVID-19 situation in the country. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) followed suit soon after and announced the cancellation of its Class XII Board exams.

“Health and safety of our students are of utmost importance and there would be no compromise on this aspect. Anxiety among students, parents, and teachers, which must be put to an end,” the PM said making the announcement.

As for the result, the union government has said that CBSE will release a “well-defined objective criteria” to declare the result “in a time-bound manner”. A final notification in this regard is expected soon.
