CBSE Starts Psycho-social Counselling Phase 1 Ahead Of Board Exams
Tele-counselling services will be available from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm on all working days.
NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) commenced the first phase of its annual free psycho-social counselling services for Class 10 and 12 students from January 6.
The initiative aims to support examinees in coping with stress and maintaining emotional well-being ahead of the board examinations.
The counselling services will continue till June 1, 2026, and are designed to support students as they prepare for the CBSE theory examinations. The CBSE board exams will commence on February 17, 2026, an official statement said.
As part of the initiative, CBSE has made available a 24×7 toll-free Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) helpline at 1800-11-8004.
Through the IVRS, students can access round-the-clock support in Hindi and English, including tips on stress-free preparation, time and stress management, answers to frequently asked questions, and important CBSE-related contact information.
In addition, tele-counselling services will be available from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm on all working days. Students and parents can interact with a panel of 73 trained professionals, including principals, counsellors and special educators from CBSE-affiliated schools, as well as qualified psychologists.
Of these, 61 counsellors are based in India, while 12 are located in Nepal, Japan, Qatar, Oman and the United Arab Emirates, providing a wide support network voluntarily.
The CBSE has made available a range of digital resources on its official website to help students manage stress, adopt effective study strategies, and maintain emotional well-being.
The board said the resources have been designed to be concise, engaging and easily accessible.
The board has encouraged students and parents to actively use these services as part of its ongoing efforts to promote students’ psycho-social well-being during the Class 10 and 12 examination cycle.
