CBSE Urges Parents To Submit Correct Data For Students’ Registration For Board Exam

Mistakes during this process can cause major disruptions for students and their schools later, says a CBSE circular

HYDERABAD: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a reminder to the parents regarding the proper submission of data for registration of students and the List of Candidates (LoC) for upcoming board examinations.

This notification applies to the students in Classes 9 and 11 for their registration, and Classes 10 and 12 for submission of their LoC.

A circular issued by the CBSE said that mistakes during this process can cause major disruptions for students and their schools later.

The board highlighted that many parents have been submitting incorrect information, including details such as names of students, dates of birth, and subjects. Once the registration and LoC processes are complete, requests to correct any data can no longer be considered, especially after the results have been declared.

“It has been observed that during registration and submission of LOC, parents are submitting incorrect information. After the results are declared, they are making requests to correct the data,” the circular said.

To prevent such issues, the CBSE has asked the parents to follow specific steps

  • Ensure your child’s name, date of birth, and parents’ names are correct and written in their full form. No short names should be used.
  • Surnames are particularly important if your child plans to go abroad in the future, as many countries require them on official documents.
  • Double-check the date of birth and consider cross-verifying it with any existing passport.

The CBSE appealed to the parents to carefully choose the subjects for students in Classes 10 and 12. “No change will be accepted after LOC submission,” it said.

Deadlines for registrations and submission of LoC

Students in Classes 9 and 11 must register on CBSE’s official website by October 16, 2024. A late registration window is available until October 24, 2024, but it incurs additional fees.

For students in Classes 10 and 12, the deadline for submitting the LoC without late fees is October 4, 2024. However, submissions with late fees can be made until October 15, 2024.
