Central University of Odisha Holds Workshop On ‘Sustainable Development & Public Policy: Recent Trends’

Bhubaneswar: The Central University of Odisha, Koraput  held a Workshop on ‘Sustainable Development and Public Policy: Recent Trends’ at its Main Campus at Sunabeda. Dr. Charudutta Panigrahi, founder and chairman, FIDR, Gurugram, Haryana graced the occasion as the chief guest.

The programme was inaugurated by Prof I. Ramabrahmam, Vice Chancellor, CUO.

Prof I. Ramabrahmam, in his inaugural address, emphasised on the active involvement of the students of CUO for the inclusive development of Society. He explained that government along with civil society has a greater role for sustainable development. He cited that excessive exploitation of mining resources affect the livelihood. He expressed a hope that the workshop will pave way road map for the development of course curriculum for sustainable development and public policy in the CUO in the coming days, said a press release.

Prasanta Behera, Workshop Coordinator & Head I/C, Dept of Economics, introduced the objectives of the Workshop.

The other guests present on the occasion were Prof Sharat Kumar Palita, Dean, SBCNR, CUO, Prof. P. Durga Prasad, visiting professor, Dept. of Sociology, Prof. B. P. Barik, visiting professor, Dept. of Sociology, Prof. Bhagabat Patro.
