Central University Of Odisha Launches Pilot Of Online Counselling Helpline ‘Bharosa’

Bhubaneswar: Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal will soon be launching an online counselling helpline ‘Bharosa’, an initiative of Central University of Odisha, to ensure the mental well-being of university students across the state in the wake of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, a pilot of the helpline ‘Bharosa’ was launched by the District Collector and Magistrate of Koraput, Madhusudan Mishra on May 5.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. I. Ramabrahmam, Registrar Dr. Asit Kumar Das, team leader Dr. Ramendra Kumar Parhi, visiting professor Dr. Durga Prasad and the PRO, Dr. Phagunath Bhoi were among the others present on the occasion.

This initiative will help varsity students across the state to cope with emotional and mental stress during this crisis.

Students from any university of Odisha can dial this number to seek psychological counseling by experts, free of cost.

This initiative has been taken by the CUO in collaboration with Association of Health Psychologist (AHP) and Support for the Emotional Rehabilitation of Virus Victims (SERV).

Helpline Bharosa (08046801010) will be launched by the HRD minister in the presence of Minister of Higher Education Odisha Arun Kumar Sahoo, Vice-Chancellor Prof. I. Ramabrahmam, Registrar Prof. Asit Kumar Das and other officials of CUO through video conference.
