Centre Aims To Achieve Universal Literacy In Primary Schools By 2025: Ramesh Pokhriyal

New Delhi: Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ on Thursday said the government is aiming to achieve universal foundational literacy in primary schools by 2025.

He took to Twitter and wrote, “NEP2020, under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji, aims to achieve universal foundational literacy in primary schools by 2025.”

Under National Education Policy (NEP) a pupil-teacher ratio of under 30:1 will be ensured in schools. Under this, there will be an increased focus on reading, writing, speaking, counting arithmetic and mathematical thinking. A national repository of high-quality resources will be made available on DIKSHA.
