Centre Wants Offline Exams Scheduled In May To Be Postponed; Review In June First Week

New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Education has advised all offline examinations scheduled in the month of May, 2021, to be postponed.

Secretary, Higher Education, Amit Khare has written a letter addressed to the heads of centrally funded institutions urging the institutions to postpone all scheduled offline examinations this month considering the alarming rise in coronavirus cases in the country amid the deadly second wave.

Online examinations may, however, continue.

He added that the postponement decision will be reviewed in the first week of June.

The heads/principals have been further advised to ensure that if anyone in the institution needs any assistance, help should be provided immediately so that he/she comes out of the distress at the earliest.

All Institutions have also been asked to encourage eligible persons to go for vaccination and ensure that everyone follows COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.
