Centurion University Hosts AIU National Women Student Parliament

Odisha Governor K. Haribabu inaugurates the event in which 30 universities and 200 female student leaders from across the country are participating

NEW DELHI: The Centurion University, in collaboration with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), has hosted the third edition of National Women Student Parliament.

Odisha Governor K. Haribabu inaugurated the vent which saw the participation of more than 30 universities and 200 female student leaders from across the country.

AIU Convener Prof. Sangram Keshari Swain delivered the welcome address, setting the tone for an inspiring event. The Centurion University played a vital role in making collaborative platform. In her address, Centurion University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Supriya Pattanayak emphasized the significance of empowering young women through leadership and dialogue. “Empowering woman is not about protest but about future of woman voice and power,” she said.

“Equality, empowerment and emancipation are not just ideas, but realities for every woman in India. Now, women are leading corporations, serving in senior governance roles, driving innovation, arguing before the courts of law and revolutionising social change. The rise of women in business, sports, law, policy, making and arts is a testament to the changing landscape of our country” said Dr. Hari Babu.

“Make your voice transform the future of Nation. Students election is helpful to produce better leaders in future,” he said.

Dr. Mamata Rani Agarwal, Additional Secretary of AIU, Former Air Force Pilot, New Delhi, highlighted the role of such platforms in shaping future women leaders.

Dr. G. S. N. Raju, Chancellor of Centurion University, shared his vision for promoting gender inclusivity in education and leadership.

Dr Gitanjali Dash, Vice-Chancellor of Berhampur University, said the India would have the full contribution of woman in every field by 2047.

Dr. Amiya Kumar Rath, Vice-Chancellor of Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Odisha, stressed the importance of women’s participation in policymaking and governance.

The event was graced by Dr. Muktikanta Mishra, president of Centurion University, and Prof. D.N. Rao, Vice-President of Centurion University.

Dr. Anita Patra, Registrar of Centurion University, delivered the vote of thanks.

Later, student leaders engaged in thought-provoking discussions and debates on various socio-political issues.

The event will feature multiple sessions over the next few days, culminating in meaningful resolutions aimed at empowering future women leaders.
