Class XII Exams Cancellation Plea: Matter Adjourned Till June 3

New Delhi: The plea seeking cancellation of CBSE Class XII board exams in the country was adjourned by the Supreme Court till Thursday, June 3.

Advocate Mamta Sharma filed the plea seeking directions to the Centre, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) to cancel the Class XII board exams.

The bench asked Attorney General (AG) KK Venugopal during the hearing as to why the policy adopted last year in a similar situation is not being followed again.

Venugopal, in response, said that exams of only a few papers were left last year, so the situation was different.

The Supreme Court adjourned the matter to Thursday on the request of the Attorney General. The judges — AM Khanwilkar and Dinesh Maheshwari — said they can consider the matter after learning about the government’s take on it.
