CLAT 2026 Provisional Answer Keys To Be Released On December 10
Window to raise objections to the provisional answer key will remain open from 5 pm on December 10 until 5 pm on December 12, 2025.
NEW DELHI: The Consortium of National Law Universities has concluded the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 on December 7.
A total of 92,344 candidates have applied this year, marking a 17% increase in applications. The 2026 examination was conducted across 156 centres in 25 states, 93 cities, and four Union Territories.
Of these, 75,009 registered for the undergraduate (UG) programme, while 17,335 applied for the postgraduate (PG) programme. The overall male-to-female ratio among candidates stands at approximately 0.72:1.
The exam witnessed a turnout, with 96.83% of undergraduate applicants and 92.45% of postgraduate applicants appearing for the test.
The exam is for students who want to pursue law and gain admission into India’s National Law Universities (NLUs). As mentioned in an official release, the provisional answer keys will be released on December 10.
How to download CLAT 2026 Provisional Answer Keys
Step 1: Visit the official WEBSITE, consortiumofnlus.ac.in
Step 2: Log in to your CLAT account and click on ‘Submit Objections’.
Step 3: Click on the ‘Submit Objection’ button.
Step 4: Select the Question Booklet set, ‘Type of Objection’, i.e., ‘About the Answer Key’ or ‘About the Question’, as appropriate
Step 5: Select the question number, enter your objection details and click on ‘Submit Objection’
Step 6: Once all your objections are submitted, click the ‘Make Payment’ button to make a payment. A fee of Rs 1,000 will be paid for each objection.
The provisional answer key will be published on its official website at 5 pm on December 10, 2025.
Candidates who wish to challenge any questions or the provisional key may submit objections through the designated portal.
The portal will remain open from 5 pm on December 10 until 5 pm on December 12, 2025.

The CLAT 2026 examination is conducted over a duration of two hours. The test comprises 120 multiple-choice questions, each carrying one mark. For every incorrect response, a penalty of 0.25 marks will be applied under the negative marking scheme.
