New Delhi: The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic exams — the leading English test for international higher education — can now be taken online via the IELTS Online.
The students will now be able to take the test online from their homes or other suitable locations. The secured online test format will begin to roll out globally in early 2022.
The format of the test will have the same content as the existing physical and computer-delivered IELTS test formats. This format will include a real-time face-to-face speaking test, delivered online by trained examiners of the IELTS.
“IELTS Online is the next step in enhancing the test taker experience around the world. It will give test takers greater flexibility in taking the IELTS test. It will also mean faster results for test-takers, as validated results will be available as soon as three days after the test. By making the world’s leading test available online, we aim to empower even more people to take IELTS and follow their ambitions.” IELTS Australia, managing director, Warwick Freeland was quoted as saying by ABP Education.
IELTS Academic’s all four skills — Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking — will be covered by the IELTS Online.
“In developing IELTS Online, we are bringing all the existing benefits of IELTS for test takers and recognising organisations,” said Freeland. “IELTS Online will provide flexibility and confidence, using cutting edge AI and state-of-the-art security features to complement the expertise of IELTS examiners,” he added.
