Puri: School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Saturday expressed displeasure over some government high schools’ callousness in not following the revised examination pattern introduced by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) for the students, who will appear for annual matric examinations from May 3.
Talking to the media after a surprise visit to the Zilla School in Puri town, he said that the students, during an interaction, revealed that the school authorities had not conducted the pretest in accordance with the BSE examination pattern.
“The schools, which have failed to follow the BSE examination pattern, will have to conduct a series of tests by March before the commencement of the revision classes for Class X students from April 1 so that they face no problem in answering the new question pattern in the examination.,” he added.
The minister also directed the District Education Officer (DEO) to serve a show-cause notice to the headmistress of the Zilla School for remaining absent without permission. He also ordered for deduction of the one-day salary of three absentee teachers.
